Hillcrest Residents Defend their Neighborhood

The Los Angeles Senitnel Newspaper published a story in last week's edition featuring neighbors of the quiet, tree-lined street known as Hillcrest Blvd. taking exception with the father of Kevin Wicks who commented to the mainstream media that the neighborhood was unsafe.

In the story, several residents are quoted with comments that painted the neighborhood for what it is, a quiet neighborhood with many seniors, retirees and working professionals who are nothing but nice and friendly towards one another. In general they are surprised that this type of violence took place in this neighborhood.

Good for them for speaking out to defend their neighborhood. Inglewood is often beaten up in the press and is usually described as a violent and unsafe community, but this image is not the true depiction of Inglewood, especially not in the case of Hillcrest Blvd.
